Staying with Pets
At Machiya Hotel YANAGI, we welcome guests bringing their pet(s) with them during their stay; please spend some relaxing time together with all of the members of your family, including the non-human ones.
Below, we have summarized detailed information about staying together with pets, so please make sure you carefully read and completely understand the following guidelines if you are planning to bring your pet(s) with your during your stay.
Booking a Stay with Pets
At our hotel, our guests are required to make a request to bring their pet(s) with them during their stay. If you would like to stay together with your pet(s), please make sure to provide us with information about the type (species) and number of pets that will accompany you at the time of your booking, or send it to us in a message or via e-mail as soon as possible after completing your reservation. In case you bring any pets without prior notification or the pets you are accompanied by differ in type (species) and/or number from the information you provided, it is possible that you will be charged an additional fee. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Types of Pets Approved for Accommodation
Since we do not have any special restrictions regarding the type (species) of pets that can accompany our guests during their stay, please feel free to bring pets other than dogs and cats as well. Until now, we have accommodated turtles, flying squirrels, quails, meerkats and many other unusual pets, so if you are uncertain if your pet(s) are able to stay at our hotel, please do not hesitate to ask us before making your reservation.
Number of Pets Approved for Accommodation
At Machiya Hotel YANAGI, we do not limit the number of pets our guests can bring with them during their stay, but please inform us in advance if you are planning on bringing a larger number of pets (more than 3).
Size/Weight of Pets Approved for Accommodation
We do not have any special restrictions regarding the size and/or weight of the pets that are allowed to accompany our guests during their stay, but if you are uncertain if your pet(s) are able to stay at our hotel, please do not hesitate to ask us anytime.
Presentation of Vaccination Certificates
While it is strictly necessary for the pet(s) you are planning to bring with you during your stay to have been vaccinated appropriately according to the law for each individual species, you will not be required to produce a vaccination certificate or any similar kind of documents at the time of your check-in.
Trimming of Fur and/or Claws in Advance
While we highly appreciate it if you take the time to trim the fur and/or claws (where applicable) of the pet(s) you are planning to bring with you and make sure they are well groomed before your arrival, it is not strictly required to be able to stay at our hotel.
Range of Movement of Pets
When staying together with pets, we ask our guests to refrain from allowing their pet(s) to climb onto, sit or sleep on any of the furniture inside the hotel (including beds and futons, sofa, tables and chairs) and to keep their pet(s) inside a cage (or similar) in the entrance area or in the living room during nighttime, but otherwise, our guests' pets are allowed to move around the entire building freely.
However, if you are accompanied by small-sized pets, they might be in danger of falling from the staircase or from the bridge on the upper floor, so please keep your eyes on them at all times to avoid any accidents.
Lending and/or Provision of Pet-Related Products
As our hotel is not specialized in accommodating guests with pets, we do not provide our guests with pet-related products or other equipment for their pet(s) (including pet baskets, pet cages and feeding bowls). Please prepare and bring any necessary products and equipment by yourselves.
Additional Pet-Related Fees
In general, staying together with pets at our hotel is free of charge, so no additional fees will be required. However, in case you bring any pets without prior notification or the pets you are accompanied by differ in type (species) and/or number from the information you provided, it is possible that you will be charged an additional fee. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Notes and Requests Regarding Stays with Pets
As soon as we are informed by a group of guests that they would like to bring their pet(s) with them during their stay, we will send them the following notes and requests concerning their stay, so please make sure to carefully read and completely understand their content.
Firstly, is there any possibility that your pet will howl, bark or make any other kind of loud noises during nighttime, or leave scratches on the hotel's furniture, the floor or other parts of the interior?
Should there be any obvious damage to the hotel's furniture, the floor or any other equipment inside the building, it is possible that you will be charged a compensatory fee. Furthermore, in case there are any complaints from the inhabitants in the hotel's vicinity and should you refuse to abide to by our staff's instructions, it is possible that you will be asked to leave the premises.
Secondly, during your stay together with your pet, we would like to ask you to refrain from allowing your pet to climb onto, sit or sleep on any of the furniture inside the hotel (including beds and futons, sofa, tables and chairs) and to keep your pet inside a cage (or similar) in the entrance area or in the living room during nighttime, but otherwise, your pet is allowed to move around the entire building freely.
Thirdly, since at Machiya Hotel YANAGI we do not provide our guests with pet-related products or other equipment for their pets (including pet baskets, pet cages and feeding bowls), we would like to ask you to please prepare and bring any necessary products and equipment yourself.
